Free Child safety bands

Good Afternoon, 

Summer is fast approaching, and with the weather looking warm for this weekend and the half term week, there will be extra officers on patrols down Barry Island, as part of Op Elstree. 

The Island becomes very busy on warm days and officers receive numerous reports of missing children. 

If you are visiting Barry Island with your little ones, be sure to visit the lifeguards before entering the beach to collect your free child safety band. 

Some helpful advice to parents/ guardians is to take a picture of you child/ children once they are in their clothes/ swimwear ready for their day at the beach. This way, if you child was to go missing, you can show officers/ lifeguards what your child looks like and what they are wearing. This saves any confusion and stress of remembering what your child is wearing in a worrying and stressful situation.
